2016 O.A.A.S QUILT

O.A.A.S Hand Quilting Rules:

  1. Entries must be solely made and hand quilted by the exhibitor and exhibited and judged at a local Ontario Association of Agricultural Societies (OAAS) to be eligible for this competition.
  2. Entry quilts must be a minimum of 324” measured on the perimeter (smaller quilts will not be eligible to proceed to the next levels of competition.)
  3. The winner’s name and pattern to be displayed at the fair on sign provided by O.A.A.S.
  4. Judging will occur at local fairs and district levels. A Provincial Grand Champion Quilt will be selected at the Annual O.A.A.S Convention.
  5. Upon making an entry into the Ontario Association of Agricultural Societies Quilt Competition, the Exhibitor agrees to participate in any promotional activities related to the competition.
  6. The winning Ontario Association of Agricultural Societies Champion Quilt will not be eligible to compete in any future District and/or Convention O.A.A.S competition.

CLASS 704

  1. Pieced cotton quilt, minimum of 324” measured on the perimeter - S.M.A. This quilt must be hand quilted (all quilting to be done by hand). Name of quilt pattern printed on white index card and safety pinned to the bottom right corner.
  2. Hand appliquéd quilt, minimum of 324” measured on the perimeter- S.M.A. This quilt must be hand quilted (all quilting to be done by hand). Name of quilt pattern printed on white index card and safety pinned to the bottom right corner.


O.A.A.S Machine Quilted Quilt/Wall Hanging Rules:

  1. Quilt/Wall Hanging must be solely made and machine quilted by the exhibitor and exhibited and judged at a local Ontario Association of Agricultural Societies (OAAS) fair to be eligible for this competition.
  2. Quilt/Wall Hanging to be measured on the perimeter. Total perimeter measurement to be a minimum of 192 inches or 480 cm. Note the article can be square, rectangular etc.
  3. Judging will occur at local fairs and district levels. A Provincial Grand Champion Machine Quilted Quilt/Wall Hanging will be selected at the Annual OAAS Convention.
  4. Upon making entry into the OAAS Machine Quilting Competition, the Exhibitor agrees to participate in any promotional activities related to the competition.
  5. The winning OAAS Machine Quilted Quilt/Wall Hanging will not be eligible to compete in any future District and/or OAAS Provincial competition.
  6. The winner’s name to be displayed at the fair on sign provided by OAAS.
  7. Quilt must have visible machine quilting.

CLASS 704

  1. Machine quilt/wall hanging, total perimeter measurement to be a minimum of 192” or 480cm. Article must have visible machine quilting. May be quilted using long arm machine. Name of quilt pattern printed on white index card and safety pinned to the bottom right corner.
