HOBBY CRAFTS

Please ensure that all tags are securely attached to your entry.

  • All work must be clean and appear new. Old and soiled work will not be judged. Articles that have been stored in mothballs must be completely aired prior to exhibiting or they will not be accepted.
  • Articles exhibited this year may only be brought back next year if entered in a different section.
  • Articles not adhering to the specifications stated in the prize list and regulation books will be disqualified.
  • ARTICLES TO REMAIN ON DISPLAY UNTIL 4:00PM MONDAY.
  • Please ensure that all tags are securely attached to your entry

  • S.Y.A. - A sample of yarn(s) attached to the entry tag.

CLASS 706

PRIZE MONEY - 1st $10.00, 2nd $8.00, 3rd $6.00

  1. Vintage or Old World Christmas tree decoration - any medium.
  2. A "Welcome" wreath made from natural materials, ready to hang.
  3. Novelty handmade bazaar item valued to sell at $5.00 or less, preferences given to items that reflect the theme.
  4. Handmade bazaar item valued to sell at $5.00 to $10.00, preferences given to items that reflect the theme.
  5. Article made from wooden spools or wooden clothes pins.
  6. Handmade beaded articles.
  7. Tea cup enterpiece.
  8. Vintag card, eg: postcard, Christmas card, etc. To be judged on age and condition. Mounted on bristol board no largr than 8" x 10".
  9. Wedding favour for an old time country wedding.
  10. Picture/art made using seeds. No larger than 8" x 10".
  11. An antique repurposed or upcycled.
  12. Handmade sachet (or your drawer or your closet) - S.M.A. or S.Y.A.
  13. Handmade trivet/hotpad - any medium.
  14. Best penmanship - Rural Routes theme.
  15. Article of plastic canvas - S.Y.A.
  16. Article made from pine cone(s).
  17. Create a handmade card using dried flowers or pressed flowers. Preference to be given to non computerized creations.
  18. "Ingenious recycling project!".
  19. Collage of antiques. Please cover entire page. Page not to exceed 11" x 14".
  20. Homemade soap - recipe to be included.
  21. Scrapbooking – “Antiques” OR "Genealogy" - includes a story or description as part of the page - 1 page - please include plastic sleeve.
  22. Article of spool knitting (aka - corking) - S.Y.A.
  23. Any craft from a kit.


HOBBY CRAFT SPECIALS

  1. An article of Paint by Number, framed & ready to hang, not to exceed 16” x 20”
  2. Article of counted cross stitch, ready to hang.
  3. Article of needlework other than counted cross stitch, ready to hang.
  4. Braided or a rag mat, not larger than 36” in any direction.
  5. Painting in oil or acrylic, ready to hang, no larger than 20” x 24” plus frame, no paint by number.
  6. Pencil or charcoal drawing reflecting the theme. Ready to hang, no larger than 12" x 24" plus frame..

JUNIOR HOBBY CRAFTS (15 YEARS AND YOUNGER)

  1. “ I Made It!” - with duct tape. Ages 10 and under.
  2. "I Made It!" - with duct tape. Ages 11 to 15
  3. Handmade Birthday card. Ages 10 and under.
  4. Handmade Birthday card using card making and/or scrapbooking materials. Ages 11 to 15.
  5. Log house made from Lincoln logs or other natural materials. No larger than 12" in any direction.
  6. Hand drawn antique on 8-1/2" x 11" sheet - may be coloured or decorated. Ages 10 and under.
  7. Hand drawn antique on 8-1/2" x 11" sheet - may be coloured or decorated. Ages 11 to 15.
  8. Wrapped gift, reflective of the 19th century. Preference given to originality. Not larger than 12" in any direction.
  9. Decorated container (could be a can, jar or vase) using items available from yesteyear (early 1900's).
